Mixed Media Classical Imaginative Design with Italian Artist Simon Pasini
The Blair School of Art is proud to host guest instructor Simon Pasini, who will be teaching you his approach to painterly murals in the academic style. Simon's keen aesthetic sense and handling of color have caused many to hail him as a modern day John Singer Sargent, although his work goes beyond his predecessors work in both ambition and scope. Each brush stroke is purposeful and designed to enhance the painting, with perfect economy of style.
This four day workshop focuses on classic painting methods with the traditional brush, as well as important conceptual considerations. Simon will discuss his use of digital tools for composition, as well as alternative materials that give the look and feel of oil.
Students can expect to paint everyday, watch demonstrations, and receive regular critiques. Questions and discussions about painting and art history are encouraged, and art materials will be covered too.
