Driving Directions

Driving Directions to the Blair School of Art:

Blair, SC is located about 40 miles NW of Columbia SC, and 70 miles SW of Charlotte NC. It is situated about midway, approximately 24 miles each direction, between the towns of Newberry and Winnsboro.  View on Google Maps

If you are staying on campus:
Your room will be ready by 3:00 pm the day prior to the start of your class.

Dinner will be served at 7:30 pm. If possible, please let us know when we should be expecting you. We are in a rural setting so deer other wildlife are prevalent on the back roads. Extra caution should be used if arriving later in the day.

Class ends after lunch on the last day of class. You can plan to be on the road around 2:30 pm without missing anything (including lunch).

Directions to 4935 Buckhead Road, Blair, SC 29015:  from I-77 South

Travel South on I-77 (through Charlotte, towards Columbia),

Take exit 48 turning right onto Hwy 200 West.

Travel about 12 miles passing through two stop lights. Continue straight through the second light where Hwy 200 becomes Hwy 34.

Travel West on Hwy 34 for 13 miles until you reach a flashing red light at a 4-way stop called Salem Crossroads at the intersection of HWY 215 and Hwy 34.

Turn Right at the Salem Crossroads on to Hwy 215 N

Continue 2- 3 miles or until you see Buckhead road on the left.  Buckhead only goes Left there is no street to the right. (At or just before Buckhead road- on your right  you will see a sign on the right that says Blair followed by a  cinderblock building).

Turn left onto Buckhead Road and go 3-4 miles, passing straight through the intersection of Hwy 99 and Buckhead Road.

Continue for about a mile to 4935 Buckhead Road. The Mail box with the street number is on the right and the driveway is on the left. It is a large brick building set pretty far back from the road up a hill.

We've seen that addresses from a GPS and Google Maps this far out are often unreliable, although either should get you close enough to easily follow these directions.

Directions to 4935 Buckhead Road, Blair, SC 29015:  From I-26

 Take I-26 to exit 74 (Newberry/Winnsboro Exit).

• If arriving on I-26 East (from Spartanburg) Turn Left onto SC-34
• If arriving on I-26 West  (from Columbia) Turn Right onto SC-34
  

You will see a couple of gas stations just after you get onto SC-34 you may want to fill up. You are probably 25 mins from us.

Stay on SC-34 (in about 10 or 12 miles you will cross the Broad River...you're getting  close).

After crossing the river (quarter mile or less) take your 1st left this is Old Blair Road.

After about 3 miles (At the Yield sign) go Straight. It is not marked but this is Buckhead Road  (Old Blair Road continues to the right, and takes you back to SC-34)

Drive about a mile to 4935 Buckhead.
