Do you offer lodging at your school?

We offer lodging at our location in Blair, SC, but not at our location in Charleston, SC. 

Do you offer a free shuttle service from the airport?

Yes, but only for departing students who are lodging at the school. Arriving students usually take UBER or LYFT.

What airport should I fly into?

Classes in Blair, SC:


You are welcome to arrive the day before class. The school buildings will open at 5 pm on the day before the workshop begins, so try to arrive between 5 and 7:30 if possible.  We will serve the first dinner at 7:30 on the evening before classes. If you are arriving at Charlotte Douglass airport, please be aware that the school is 90 minutes from the airport by UBER or LYFT.


You should plan on departure flights after 5:00 pm on Sunday, as class instruction runs until lunchtime. The shuttle leaves for the airport after lunch on Sunday, usually around 1:30-2 PM. We arrive at the airport for drop-off on Sundays around 3:30, so allow yourself time. Due to the distance between the airport and our campus we are unable to accommodate early departure times via our shuttle.

Classes in Charleston

Fly into Charleston International Airport. The School is located approximately 20 minutes away, reachable by taxi or UBER. Classes in Charleston end at 5 pm. We recommend that you consider staying a day or two so that you can visit the city. Its an amazing place!

How do I get to the school from the airport?

Students are welcome purchase their own ride with a Uber or rent a car.  Bear in mind that it is a 90-minute trip from the airport to Blair, and 20 minutes from the Charleston airport to the school in Mt Pleasant.

What time should I arrive if I am driving? 

Please plan to arrive in the evening before class begins. Check in begins at 5 PM the day before class begins.  A dinner will be served at the school the night prior to classes around 7:30 PM.

Do you have an airport shuttle?

We do not offer a shuttle from the airport. However, we do offer a shuttle from the airport on Sunday from the Blair, SC location only. You may arrange transportation via an Uber, Lyft or rental car. Our shuttle on the last day of class will depart after lunchtime, so please book your flight for after 5 pm.

We do not offer a shuttle for Charleston classes. However, because the school is only 20 minutes from the airport we can recommend a taxi or UBER.

Is it true that your school has on-site lodging and catered meals?

Yes, at the Blair SC location only. We offer private lodging and 3 meals per day. For our four and five-day workshops, the lodging and meals are covered in our all-inclusive package. Please note: The nearest hotels and restaurants are 25 miles away, so we strongly recommend our lodging and meal package.

We have two 5,000 square-foot buildings designed to house up to 8 students each. The buildings are situated approximately a half mile apart and feature cozy private bedrooms with full baths.

We also offer three meals per day. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be served family-style so that students and staff may dine together. All meals are included in the residence fee. Home cooked meals are prepared by an on-site chef. Snacks and a coffeemaker will also be provided in the conference room which adjoins the studio classroom. Individual meal alterations can be made for students with special dietary needs. Please contact us at minimum thirty (30) days before class begins if you have special dietary needs.

For our Charleston students there are many incredible restaurants in the area, with several being across the street from the school.

What do your meals include? What if I have special concerns or dietary needs?

If you have any specific concerns or dietary needs, please contact us by email so that alternative meal options can be arranged. Students must contact us 30 days prior to class so that our chef has time to plan meals accordingly.

Will I have to bunk with someone or will I have a private room?

You will have your own private bedroom and bathroom.

May I bring someone with me although they will not be attending the workshop?

Due to the intense nature and remote setting of our workshops, we will be unable to provide accommodations for persons not attending. For non-participants wishing to stay in the area, the town of Newberry or Winnsboro (both approximately 24 miles from Blair) have several options. Please call (803) 635-8060 for a list of local hotels.

What are your policies on smoking, drugs, and alcohol?

For the comfort and safety of all participants, smoking is not allowed inside any buildings owned or operated by the Blair School of Art. Covered outdoor areas with ashtrays will be provided for your convenience. We have a zero tolerance policy on drug use on or around the campus. Anyone using drugs will be asked to leave immediately without a transfer or refund. Alcohol consumption is strongly discouraged but on occasion may be tolerated, in moderation, at the discretion of our staff.

What is your Class cancellation policy?

Cancellations  more than 60 days before a workshop are fully refundable (less a 15% processing fee) . Cancellations  more than 30 days are 50% refundable. No refunds are given before for cancellations made less than 30 days before a workshop. Deposits will be also forfeited under the same conditions. 

What is your product refund policy?

We offer a refund (less a 15% restocking fee) if the product is returned in perfect unused condition within 30 days. The refund may be in the form of a check sent by mail.

For Classroom in a box kits, the refund policy is the same, unless the video associated with the kit has been accessed. In that situation, a 40% fee will be deducted from the refund.

For packages delayed due to Covid we require a grace period of 90 days after the refund request is made before a refund is issued.

What happens if I forget to enter my coupon code at checkout?

We cannot offer a refund for missed discounts.
If you have a valid coupon code be sure to enter it on the payment page and press the redeem button you will see a notice at the top of the page indicating the status of the code you entered. If it is applicable to your purchase you will see the updates to the pricing in real time before you continue to the next page.

Discounts on workshops can be refunded as store credit:
If you missed entering your coupon code for a workshop you purchased, the discount amount may be issued as a store credit towards products or future classes provided the following conditions are met:

  •     Customer service is contacted within 24 hours of the purchase
  •     The coupon code was available and valid at the time of purchase
