What students are saying

I attended Dru's workshop with the hope of learning to paint, I left with the ability to "see" and a system that allowed me to develop my own understanding of painting and colours. Your system has given me the freedom to explore my own creativity.

Dru's teachings showed me how to create great detail and gave me the ability to achieve PHOTOREALISM in my artworks. Thank you for pioneering the world of photorealism in airbrushing, I doubt I would have got here without your long nights and many experiments .

About this painting

John William Waterhouse's painting was inspired by Alfred Tennyson's poem about a lady imprisoned by a curse that she may never gaze upon Camelot except by mirror. When she violates the curse by looking directly at Lancelot, she realizes she is doomed anyway, and sets out by boat to Camelot. She dies before she arrives and the knights find her. Here is a stanza from the poem

"Who is this? And what is here?"
And in the lighted palace near
Died the sound of royal cheer;
And they crossed themselves for fear,
All the Knights at Camelot;
But Lancelot mused a little space
He said, "She has a lovely face;
God in his mercy lend her grace,
The Lady of Shalott."
